The erosion of democratic institutions and the rise of strongman leaders in countries around the world has come into the spotlight in recent years. What are the means and methods by which authoritarian rulers exercise power, in a world that is now more globally and technologically interconnected? Our speaker will share insights from his new book on “Spin Dictators”, while drawing out lessons relevant for assessing the political and economic dimensions of the Russia-Ukraine war.
